Job Description:
The Card Issuing & Acquiring Manager will report to the Head – Card & Payments and will be responsible for the strategic direction, development, and management of the bank’s card portfolio (including issuing and acquiring services). The role involves product innovation, improving customer and merchant experiences, ensuring compliance with payment scheme regulations (Visa, Mastercard), and driving operational and financial performance within the cards business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and implement the vision, strategy, and roadmap for all card products.
- Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of debit, credit, virtual, and prepaid cards.
- Ensure full compliance with scheme, regulatory, and industry standards.
- Drive product innovation to enhance the bank’s value proposition and competitiveness.
- Collaborate with teams to deliver new card solutions and go-to-market plans.
- Manage partnerships with Visa, Mastercard, and other providers to leverage growth opportunities.
- Monitor and improve customer experience across ATMs, POS, and online platforms.
- Oversee customer feedback, retention, and loyalty programs.
- Manage relationships with vendors and partners for optimized service delivery.
- Lead risk management and compliance initiatives for card operations.
- Monitor financial performance, revenue, and profitability of the card portfolio.
- Conduct financial analysis and reporting to support strategic decisions.
- Train and upskill cross-functional teams in card services and operations.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Commerce, or Management Studies.
- 7–8 years of experience, with at least 5 years in card management and operations.
- Strong knowledge of Visa and Mastercard compliance requirements and regulations.
- Experience in scheme operations, risk management, and product marketing.
- Familiarity with PCI-DSS, EMV, 3D Secure, tokenization, contactless payments, and payment security standards.
- Strong business modelling, forecasting, and financial analysis skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work cross-functionally.
- Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and innovation abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
