Job Description:

Ibero Uganda Ltd is seeking a skilled and proactive Senior IT Officer to support the company’s IT infrastructure and lead IT operations across its departments. The ideal candidate will have strong technical and leadership abilities, with a passion for systems administration, cybersecurity, and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain IT infrastructure (servers, networks, applications)
• Monitor system performance, security, and backups
• Troubleshoot and resolve escalated technical issues
• Lead deployment of IT systems, hardware, and software
• Mentor junior IT staff and coordinate cross-departmental support
• Enforce IT security policies and disaster recovery plans
• Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and software licensing
• Document IT procedures and recommend system upgrades
• Liaise with external vendors and service providers

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in IT operations or systems administration
• Proficiency in Windows/Linux, networking, cloud services, virtualization, and cybersecurity
• Hands-on experience with Active Directory, Office 365, antivirus, and firewalls
• Familiarity with ITIL/ITSM is a plus
• Certifications such as Network+, Security+, Microsoft, or Cisco (CCNA/CCNP) are desirable
• Strong troubleshooting, multitasking, and communication skills
• High integrity, attention to detail, and proactive mindset
• Fluency in English (knowledge of local languages is an added advantage)
